Wildling prince. King Elika's eldest son.
Intercepts his half-sister Kalala's attempt at breaking out Walter from prison.
Has taken a great interest in Walter, whom he believes can help him awaken a slumbering power in the mountains.
Does not believe that Walter is a reincarnation of Eleftherios and claims that the priestesses (Katinga and Bodika) have lied to everyone.
Has an underground "fortress" the entrance of which is at the foothills of the mountains. He and the priests working for him seem to believe that the place is home to a mysterious anchel.
Persuades Walter and the party to help him complete "the anchel's trial" by fixing a machine in a poison-filled maintenance tunnel.
After the machine is fixed, the facility shakes as 13 flaming pillars emerge from the mountains and begin flying towards the east. His brother informs him that Khasai (in his anchel armor) and Bodika are on the way to investigate.
After finding Nzadi dead and Mumengi telling him that the anchel is no longer speaking to them, Lufua enrages, calls the anchel "deceiver" and smashes Nzadi's head against the floor repeatedly. He kills Mumengi (or has him killed) afterwards while the party is away.
Implores Walter and the party to escape through a sealed emergency exit tunnel while he (supposedly) delays Khasai, for if Khasai kills Walter, Khasai will be crowned king of the wildlings.
